It can happen that some great moments arrive in your life when you do not hope…This opportunity was so incredible for me that i said yess immediatly. I had to cover a wedding in Antigua and i had the opportunity tobe an assigned for OXFAM GUATEMALA to document diverse process being executed around Baja Verapaz and Chiquimula, i said yes for the assignment and it was helpful to cover the first one. They work worlwide (probably you know the 5 letters) and mainly to help the women and their family in this country. Some areas are very poor, without water, very dry an the social organization is very rude for the women.
Then OXFAM launched several project around “vegetable production on air shelves for promoting food and nutrition security” and also “Soil conservation and agro forestry systems”. Not easy to imagine but it becomes obvious when you are on the field. We spent 5 days driving (4 wheels) in very hard condition to go in far in the mountain, close to the border, sometimes in narco village. I was very far from my usual context of working, 50 % of the time i was just hanging with 2 hands to the ceiling of the 4 wheels and the 2 feets stuck somewhere, and really after 5 hours without air system under the sun, windows closed due to the dusk and 3 liters of water i was always excited to have the chance to be there to help them with just my work.
